The Basics
What is American Spinning Works?
A project to rebuild premium cotton-spinning capacity on American soil — starting with a ring-spinning hub in Yuma, Arizona. America grows the world's finest Pima but exports ~87% of it raw; we're bringing the value-add step home. See
the economic case.
What is Operation Chromite?
The flagship campaign behind the initiative — named for the 1950 Inchon landing. It frames the mission: America crossed an ocean to help save Korea; now a Korean-American returns the favor by rebuilding an American industry. More on the
Operation Chromite page.
What is Pima / Supima cotton?
Premium extra-long-staple cotton grown in Arizona, California, and Texas. Its long fibers make stronger, softer, higher-value yarn — the exact fiber that most benefits from quality domestic spinning.
Is this a real company or a concept?
It's led by an operator already running domestic knitting, dyeing, finishing, and apparel supply-chain work — the one missing link is spinning, which the Yuma hub adds.
